I have a fallow fawn born 06-09-12 that is doing fine other than both front knees have gone bald of hair. skin is becoming red like it is irritated. the area is the size of a penny in diameter. How should I treat and what is this condition. She is with another fawn who does not show any of these signs.

Any help is appreciated.

do the joints seem swollen? if so check for a navel infection. personally I would put poultice on them daily and wrap them up for a week or so. if there is infection in them trying to get out it will help pull it out. poultice is a product used mostly on horses and pretty easy to find. I had the same thing this year in a whitetail fawn.
