Fawn Swallowed Nipple

Anyone ever have this happen?

One of our fawns swallowed the Pritchard nipple last night?

We will be monitoring her closely, but wondered if anyone has experienced this and if so, what was the outcome?

we have had it happen 3-4 times and they passed it with no problems. Just put all new on our bottles Friday night...seems about this stage they get alittle stretched and the fawns are pulling and chewing on them more. I worry more about them getting milk in their lungs when it happens.

Lol. Did the fawns make pellets out of the nipple.

We have also had a fawn swallow a nipple. As the other farmer had said she was fine and passed it within two days. I for sure understand your concern I was stressed for a few days myself.

Great! That seems to be the common theme. We were concerned as we had spoken to someone who said it only ever happened to them twice. One time the fawn was just fine and the other time it eventually died. Thanks everyone!!

Had that happen three years ago...never saw that nipple again and deer has been just fine...good luck
