Went out at 6am to feed , got 4 fawns on the bottle , not one would take it . all ate good last night at 10pm . 1 fawn is 3weeks ,2 are 1week and 1 is 3 days . Hope this is not a bad start to something . feeding red cap with one cup replacer

Since none of them would drink, maybe it was just something off about the milk. Could've been too hot or cold, or spoiled?? Hope that's all it was.

Jamie, do you have them separated?? They could be sucking on each other. Due to all of them doing it at the same time, I agree Traci's thoughts could be right on the money.

They are all in the same pen . They done a little better at noon feeding . ???

jamie i have had one skip a feeding here or there. its pretty warm out and i think sometimes they just don't feel like it. as long as they don't miss a couple of feeding it will be alright.

Well they ate good for a day , now back to not eating . tried electrolytes one took about four oz the other took none . im gonna give some shots of penicillin and c&d after dark when it cools off outside (95 degrees here today) would it hurt to bring them inside in the ac after being out in the heat all day ?

Feeding 4 times 6 ,12 ,5 ,10 on buck fawn , and one doe fawn they are 1 week old . abou 7 oz each . the other at 6 ,3 , 10 about 11oz 4 weeks old have not noticed sucking on each other but im not with them a lot .

Get a fecal test done. Just because they are not loose does not mean they haven't pick up a bug of some kind. It's cheap and will give you peace of mind.

Still no feeding , give them there meds . try again before bed time . probably be dead by morning . i need a new hobby ????/:(

I wonder if watering the milk down would help, noone likes to drink thick milk when it is warm out, just guessing

I agree with Josh A fecal test needs to be done. Also a Temp!!!! You need to do a a rectal temp to see if they are fighting off infection. Also bottle temp? I personally have found adjusting bottle temp with outside temp. is beneficial. Hot days = room temp. Cold nights= Body temp. Just a couple of thoughts that may help.

Good Luck and feel free to give me a call 717-496-8568

Fed at 10pm all three drank 7oz and wanted more . i set the milk out for about 20 min at room temp did not warm it . ??? All still pelleting . ??

Jamie, We have often had fawns miss 1 or 2 meals in a row, and it can sometimes be somewhat unanimous. Then w/o changing a thing they begin to eat again. I don't tell you this to encourage you not to worry or to drop your guard, cause we can/should never do that. But I believe that sometimes that is just how those fawns 'roll'. Again though, don't drop your guard. Figure the worst...hope for the best! Had to laugh Jamie at your comments of ''probably all be dead by morning''...''need to find a different hobby''. Laughed because I have had those same sentiments before, alot, and sometimes we have to laugh to keep from crying. Good luck Jamie!

One of the doe fawns now has some clear mucus in with her fecal pelets . no blood just clear snot looking stuff .
