Anyone care to share their experiences with feed mixers? Such as make, model, and success. What sort of ingredients do you use and how do the deer perform on the feed?

Thanks-

We are still on the small side for a deer operation so i bought a cement mixer and use it to mix up feed. Down side is i can only mix 100 Lbs. at a time and it takes a while. I know our local feed mill will mix up the feed for me for around $18.00 as long as we buy everything from them. Sometimes when i buy corn i will get 50 to 100 lbs. more than i orderd. so i can't trust that they mix it exactly how i want it. They cant just shut off the flow of the grain exactly when it hits a certain weight. So you will always get more or less than what you want, usally more. I enjoy mixing up feed right now but i am only mixing around 400 lbs. a month and i know a couple guys that run threw a couple tons a month. at that point i wont enjoy it anymore and will buy a Feed mixer. I believe you can pick up a used one for around $3,000.00.
