J jadaho Joined May 2015 98 Posts | 0+ KY Sep 11, 2015 #3 I usually use barn lime for smell and fly repellent. Works on regular ants, don't know about fire ants. The powdered calcium must do something beneficial, use it on garden vegetables too, gets rid of pests.
