We have done a lot of reading on the forum and thanks to everyone for the great information on how, and what to bottle feed a baby fawn. I now have one new question how far should the new fawn be away from the other deer. We have Fallow deer.
I do not think it matters. A lot of people have a barn with stalls to put a new born in. That helps keep it out of the weather, heat the room, cool the room with a fan, etc. The dam will possibly be stressed out if the fawn is with in sight.
Seperated a doe from the fawn last week so I could mow the pen. The doe hit the fence several tmes trying to get to it. I would say out of sight. Just my thought.
Thanks for the info. we pulled a fawn Sunday night and mom and baby keep calling for each other. the fawn was 48hrs old. everyone seems to be doing beter now. wasn't sure if the could smell or hear each other, but the first 24hrs was tough.. this is our first time for bottle feeding, and we do not want to mess up, love the giys way to much for that.
