Front page Indianapolis Star

I'm in Indianapolis to watch Kentucky Michigan game today. Went out to get morning paper and X factor is on cover along with a bunch of lies

Sounds like a member of the ACA task force had better be writing a letter of intent to file a lawsuit if this continues.  Or someone had better have a rebuttal  wrote up to counter this crap. These 3 guys are making some pretty big waves in the news and 90% of the people that have no clue about whitetails believe what the read.

We will take a hit on this one if one of our Association's do not step to the plate!

I do not know why I cant copy and paste a link to the article in the  USA TODAY.

WE BETTER WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nobody is going to do it for us.

I am flat out tired of the people who think they rule this industry doing NOTHING!

IDEFA has not and will not make comments on the program standards.  That is why I am not a member.  If they will not represent the 300 deer farmers of Indiana instead of their top 30 club, I will not spend another dime with them, and the same way with NADEFA.  When will the rest of us say enough is enough????

AM I the only one who received in the mail FRIDAY that I need to send comments to USDA by Monday.  Of course I have known for a long time about this but what about those who do not???????????

What is wrong with people. Putting your head in the sand will not make this go away, it will put us away!

We need to fight and we need to fight back now.  I forwarded these articles at the first of the week to the ACA.

We need facts, stone hard facts about CWD to shove back in their face.

We need a  documented paper with FACTS about how it started and where the Government sent those animals.  WE NEED IT NOW!!!

We need a live test NOW

We need a vaccine NOW

Although i agree with most of your post. Thinking NADEFA is not a big player in the fight is incorrect.  I believe it was the ACA that put a group of folks together to fight this kind of stuff and i hope they are on it.  They also have to watch how they tread because like it or not, some of the facts in that write up are true.

When they have to dig all the way back to the Indiana case it shows they dont have alot to fight with but you are right and someone better be doing a write up somewhere to show the facts.  These 3 guys were hired by someone to do this. The one says he is a big time hunter..From Cali...Yeah Ok!!!!!

You have to admit that the big non-typicals that cannot hold their heads up do not help us in the publics eye.

If we did not have them then they would have a lot less ammunition, "frankendeer" as they call them.

I would say 99.99% of these people have never been to a slaughter plant.  Free chase????

Mike, I just got the letter from NADEFA on Friday as did everyone else I know.  As something as important to this industry why so late??????

You and I have know for 1.5 years but others in this industry have not.

This will go unchallenged by the deer industry as it always has in Indiana.  We dont have any "players" involved in the national click so no money or support to fight the fight we have been up against for years.  This will be over soon and the Industry is gonna look back and wish somebody would have fought for an "industry" instead of a handful.

Jerilee,  is it true there is case law in Indiana that doesn't allow the disparaging of the livestock industry?  This seems that it would qualify for it.  Do you have the law or statue handy?   We need to go after this writer.  If in fact it is illegal to show the slaughter of an animal in a negative light, this seems to fit that statue.  I know Iowa has such a law.   This writer twisted the interviews with Russ sand Donald.  This writer will be held accountable.

Yes Sir. And it needs to be shown just as much as he has shown their view.  They need to be charged if possible and sued to the max. After this happens a time or two. These few that like to stir the water will be no more.

As far as huge antlers and animals that cant hold their heads up.. I Agree. But i also believe that kind of so called,Breeding for inches is over.  We have a strong industry that is used by more and more folks every year. That is what brings guys like this out of the wood work. They see how strong we are getting, They see how the DEC,DNR of states screwed up the wild herds making us even used more. They only fight because they are threatened and now we need to go one step above threaten and charge them with whatever we can.

strong?????????????

this industry will never be strong as long as you have some "breeders" looking down on the rest of the people like they are peasants!

Sorry. Not sure what ax you have to grind or with whom but its strong in every area i have been. Talked with many at NADEFA that had their best year ever and many are talking of expanding and farming full time. I guess its state by state but from what im seeing most states are strong.

no ax, just speaking the truth,  Hotrod also from  Indiana  agrees, if you move here you will see

article in another paper, will be across the country by the end of the week

I hear that. We are now in a closed state and have filed a lawsuit against our Dept of Ag and DEC.  Maybe you guys can do the same.  Have heard a little about your state but all we can do is fight each battle and then win the war.

Mike, Ask Hot Rod how long he has been fighting the state and DNR.  Its a losing battle here.  Yes he finally won his lawsuit, for now. But it dont matter how much money you have or who you know you will lose. Ask Russ Beller how many millions he has spent and yet he is going to Ohio just like us that are tired of the bull sh!!.  Just like I told you at the conference wait till they shut our borders with 400 farms and 5 preserves that dont combine 400 deer shot a year.

Well i sure hope the powers that be do not let this one slide by without a rebuttal. Seems as though Ohio my be seeing some new business from a few different states.

Im sure they will welcome all.

I picked up the Des Moines Paper to read at work last night. Saw that article and I didnt even read it. I was so mad just from the captions and story headings!! Ten minutes later a fellow employee says to me" Hey you read that article about your deer is spreading disease across the country?" Grrrrr!!!
