Grinding Teeth

New to the forum. I have a four-year-old buck, who has been grinding his teeth on and off over the past couple days. He is eating and drinking fine, his eyelids are nice & pink, and he’s not really showing any other signs of problems. Looking for suggestions as to why he could be grinding his teeth, or what I should be looking for if he is in some sort of pain. Also wondering if anybody else has seen this without any problems and if it’s just a normal behavior.

I’ve hand raised him for the past four years, I have goats as well and have never had any issues with him. He has free access to baking soda like my goats do as well.

That’s why I’m worried.

He will make the noise once or twice and then he will stop and not make it again for hours and then he will grind once and then nothing else again. I work from home so I’m able to keep a really tight eye on him, but it’s bothering me that he’s only done it intermittently a few times. He’s only done it 3-4 times total today, and each time it’s a very short sound and then it stops.

After watching several videos, I’m thinking that it’s not grinding, instead it’s him clicking and making sounds as he comes into rut.
