Growing Fodder

I'm a newer deer farmer just started 3 years ago. I only have 10 deer currently. I read some posts on here and watched lots of YouTube videos on growing fodder for deer feed. Here's what I've done. I Just started growing fodder 2 weeks ago. I built an 8 shelf rack. It take up only 2 square feet. Each shelf has a 1/2" slant back and forth for water flow.I only water top shelf, which waters the next shelf down and so on. Each tray is 10"X20" with 8 drain holes on one side,2 trays per shelf. It has a tote on the bottom to catch excess water. I add 2 trays per day with 2 lbs of barley or wheat seed in each. Water 4 times per day, no sunlight needed, keep room temp between 60 & 70 degrees. Once all racks are full,I'm using about one gallon of water 4 times per day. On eighth day I feed deer bottom rack, which now weighs about 12lbs or more per tray and has a 22% protien level. I started deer with small amounts so they adjust to new feed. The deer love it and it will cut my feed bills by more than 60%. I plan on adding a pump and a timer so I don't have to water them. Hopes this helps some of you. Pictures to follow as soon as I figure out how to post them.

Apple creek had a right up on there fodder opperation you wont believe there production. I believe it was 6 tons a day if not mistaken.

Do you feed the Fodder instead of grain or do you feed it with the grain? If so, how much fodder and how much grain do you use?
thanks for any reply!
