A neighboring deer farmer asked me to look at his 3 year old buck which he thought was sick. I guess he is sick but the biggest problem I see is the deer has gone blind. What would cause this to happen?

head trama is the most usual suspect, are the eyes dark or a shinny silver (chrome illusion) color? head trama can even be self inflicted

I think this is what Scott is referring to. Robbie called me last night and recommended the same thing and this was her thoughts on the cause. First I want to thank Robbie and Scott, we are fortunate to have their knowledge available. I did some research last night on the subject and I think I know the what brought the problem on. According to the information I found this problem can be caused by CoRid, over worming, to much grain and lack of quality forage.

This is exactly what happened to this deer. He had Corid in the water, wormer in the feed and substantially increased the corn because of the cold weather. This was quite a loss as this was a pure southern deer that scored over 200" and was a typical 10 point. He was able to save the semen.
