Wondering what some are using for herd management software? Been thru a few different programs and would like to find something easy to use.

I would like to hear whats out there and folks liking to them.

Thanks

MRW, I sell the GMS Pro, cheapest price around and I can tell you that there are a lot of farmers using this tool and really like it. Call me at (717) 238-7715, ask for Henry and I can get you set up. Call if you just want to talk deer, my favorite anytime discussion

Harry

I use GMS it works well but I have no experience with anything else

Harry,we use GMS and have had great luck with it and we bought the updates at top 30 wich added a lot of versatility and sending paper work into NADR is going to make DNA work easier!

GMS for me! I tried several different softwares out there, but GMS was the only one that had all the features I wanted. They also offer Sell-a-deer which you can link to your website. It's very user friendly and they have great technical support. You can check out the 'deer for sale' on my website to see the Sell-a-deer program I'm talking about.

Mr Whitetails

I have both software packages (GMA and MDI). I am a pretty savy computer guy and think that i can figure out most computer related stuff relativly fast. I can not get either one to do what I want them to do. They are both confusing to me. Maybe I just need to bring my computer to an auction and have some one show me how GMS works the right way.

Good morning Eric

We at Apple Creek use GMS. What things are you looking for GMS and MDI to do for your farm? What problems are you having in using management programs?

Scott :)

Eric you might be a savy computer guy but where do you get off calling yourself pretty, I for onr just dont see it

The good thing about GMS is the tech support you get once you buy a program. They will walk you through any issues you may have and help you understand the program. We also sell this item on Whitetail Exchange and have sold many copies all over the country.

I use Deer Trax - very easy program & limited as to what you can do. No tech support is available though ur pretty well on ur own.

I will be there in booth 158, stop in after the overview and get a copy or just to say hi.

I have a stupid question, but what do these programs do for you? Not looking to fight, I really am curious.

Laurie seems to have established her own record system. To be honest I don't know what she has or does because I don't touch the records she handles all that.

I have established my own system of pedigrees.

And the state has some sort of on-line system for all the forms they want. At least I think they do since again Laurie handles all that.

You know, it would seem Laurie does all the work around here. Hmmm:eek:

Well I do the... no that is her too. I guess I am just a grunt here:)

I have used GMS, MDI & The Rancher. They all have their pros & cons, depends on what you want the program to be used for. Using GMS currently.

Roger, I guess that old saying is true, "behind every man there is a better woman", I can't believe I just said that but in this case it appears to be true. My wife would be proud of me, maybe I need to show this to her and score some points, I need all I can get these days.

Harry, I bought my GMS about 7 or 8 yrs ago. Still dont use it,but thats my fault--Mike Owens is still at several deer shows every year and standing behind what he sold me way back when. Sometimes I look at a pedigree that has been printed out with GMS and it is very detailed,DNA #s, ages, and scores for several generations, that alone would be nice. I get tired of writing them all out. I think I just talked myself into getting mine going.
