How many hunters per year?

I'm in school right now for Business and Web Management and I'm getting ready to have to write a paper on a business I'd like to run. Well my goal is to open a hunting preserve. I however need to find out what the market is really like. So to start what is the average number of hunters you guys are having each year? A break down by species would be great if its not asking too much.

I'm guessing by the lack of any replies this is not information any one wants to share.

What state are you looking to open a preserve in? That might help you get some replies.

Good luck we can sure use more hunting ranches. And more hunters wouldnt hurt either.

One of the ranches I manage has an average of 85 harvests per season. Species harvested include WT, Red Deer, Elk, Fallow, Axis, Blackbuck, Pere David, Sika and a few Gazzelle.

Appreciate the reply Scott. I've spoke to some people but I don't know who is telling me honest numbers and who's not. Going off of what they said here's what I had come up with 30 Whitetail, 15 Elk, 15 Stag, and 25 Fallow. that is from roughly 80 hunter average. From the few preserves I've hunted at personally though it seems like they were having alot more clientele then 80 hunters per year.

If there are 80 harvests, avg, per year then we might figure that the avg price for a hunt is, lets say 5-7k, thats $400,000 to $560,000 in revenue. That money is spread pretty thin when we are producing so many deer. It seems like people would be chomping at the bit to open one but there has to be a better acceptance of the preserve hunt to make it happen. The preserves need more exposure from our industry giants, and all of us for that matter.

I'm confused as to the point of your post Warren. Your average price is right about on. Average price is just at 5k with a revenue of $400,000. But I'm still not following what your message is.
