How should I go about this?

I wouldn't announce it until you are about to officially name it, with marketing, etc. But before you even go that far, just make sure no one else has that name. Do a few google searches and I'm sure you'll get an idea of whether or not someone has it. Read through the first few pages of results, mix up the words, cut some out, etc. If no one else has it, go for it. I wouldn't worry about someone else stealing your name....no one likes coming in 2nd..that being said, MAKE A NAME for yourself (figuratively speaking) in the beginning so you stand out. If you do well, your deer will speak for you, and the name won't matter all that much. Just my thoughts.

The name is important, and marketing budgets will likely require that you name it well, and promote the ranch using the name of the ranch, and the web URL etc.. all being the same. Once you have success, the name is not nearly as important, but in the beginning, it should be easy to remember and spell. And reflect the business or category that you are in. IE Big Buck Heaven is likely about big bucks, but maybe not about turkey hunting. Not sure, but people will imply something from the name. Some consumer companies spend over $100K on naming. So spending some thought up front will pay off later.

If you form a corporation, if the name exists, the state will not allow you to use the same name (in TX).. I have experienced it firsthand
