Maybe we are looking at this the wrong way. Maybe the carrot unstead of the stick approach.

I mean look..some people are going to do stuff that will give us a bad image no matter what laws we get into place to protect us. What we need to do in my opinion is two fold.

1. Give people a monetary reason for following a set of guidelines. Get all the good hunting preserves current and future to join a nationwide organization that follows the set of guidelines. Sort of a group of premier preserves if you will that gives an excellent experience and is endorsed and backed by hunting organizations and deer farmers. With the right PR this will result in premium prices and a desire by the public to use this resource.

example: The way PR for angus cattle has caused verfied angus beef to be worth more than regular beef and to become more sought after by consumers.

2. By joining into a nationwide organization of hunting preserves that is endorsed by hunters and deer farmers, these hunting preserves will have alot more support and there will be a clear definition between "undesirable preserves" and "good preserves". I think if we use a method like this to patrol ourselves we will be much more able to survive any negative legislation coming our way.

I like that idea fars............this is kind of what i was meaning too....I kind of worded it wrong in my previous post.......I do not want any more laws or regulations on the poor deer farmers or our Industry. But having an organization of premier preserves that meet certian guidelines and are supported by the hunters and deerfarmers is a good way to go. if you want to be in the premier group you need to meet the quality of standards set forth by the group. i am liking this...what do the preserve owners think of something like this???

The monetary reward for running a good operation is clients. Clients aren't going to look at a deerfarmer organization for endorsement - they talk to other hunters. Word of mouth is the best reference.

So it's more important to get hunter organization endorsements then.

Look it really doesn't need to be this hard.........the biggest thing is clients just like you said Wild Rivers and the more clients the more successful we all are.....this being said, we need to focus our attention as an industry on capturing a larger percentage of the hunting population......doing this will only increase everyones success in the future!!!!

Wild Rivers, how do demographics play from your point of view? What % of hunters are; a. withi-in 250 mile radius b.with-in state c. out-of-state ?
