Did you flush your does 30 days prior to breeding time? This can increase the chances of does dropping 2 eggs, instead of 1.

no this is their second year and some of them had twins last year

Did you check the quality of the semen before you used it? Other than being young deer, that is the only other factor I can think of.

I agree + how it was handled up to the time of insertion.

Im not convinced on this theory but, I have a friend that live breeds and had this same problem. He done some asking around and believed he was feeding to high of a percentage of protein 20.%...so he backed of on the protein starting in the fall of the year and the following spring had many more multiples born... maybe just a coincidence but it seemed to work for him... I think there are some does that are just prone to have singles for some reason.. we have had some that had singles year after year.. very disappointing ..especially if you put money in good semen...

yes i gave them psmg i do not remember how much the vet is very experienced i would like to know how much psmg everybody used i can look up how much i used

Check your feed.. i fed so so feed last year and had only two does give twins..13 others gave singles..
