There are two sides of this story,Ray's side and the fish and game side.Ray didn't drive the truck which crossed into Texas,he provided a collection service only.Ray was never contacted by Texas Animal Health over this issue(Ray's fine would have been $500.00).Ray was fined by Fish and Game using the Lacey Act on a "livestock" animal.Ray was given three options,(1) roll over on all the people he knows in this industry(2) go to court and face up to ten years in prison(3) take a plea agreement that was a $200,000 fine and 5years probation, which was REDUCED to $30,000 and 3 years probation by the judge at sentencing. The moral of this story is Fish and Game using the Lacey Act on livestock animals only this time adding semen to the list.Which option would you take if the Fish and Game crosshairs were on you? Ray's a friend and a good man and the only one that we will use to collect our animals!
