Folks, This is just a little info that can go a long way. Some of these 501c3 tax exempt groups out there that lobby against the captive cervid industry are in violation of IRS code . Please take time and use this wisely. The qdma or as some have now known them to be the Questionable Deer Management Asso are a 501c3 organization . In that form it does not allow them or any 501c3 group to directly engage inn direct partisan politics.A C4 can but not a C 3.They can hand out paperwork and send in information but cannot directly  address any member of direct political status, So next time you see them trying to lobby in a direct political partisan forum they need to be turned in , shut down or have it brought to the attention of the appropriate people.

The IRS will be glad to know this. They are actively looking for ways to get organizations off the tax exempt status. We have plenty of examples already.

I believe the head of the Conservation Federation was actually testifying at the Missouri Capitol when one of the Senators let him know that law. He was speechless at the point he was told he should not even be there.

This is one of the main reason that the Questionable Deer Management Asso is starting its splinter cell NDA, Its supposed to be its advocacy arm of QDMA to take some political and potential legal focus off of them. The first part of their pied piper approach is to lure as many people in for free to start to build numbers up. Then start with their statements against anything that's not in their way of outdoor life or hunting. I brought this up a while back at a meeting and this was a statement from qdma rep Joe Hamiltion Which I like Joe very much but yes we also disagree on a few subjects and also his views on the captive industry . In 2012 he stated that( Quote Any product that attracts or congregates deer into a single location is a place for the spread of disease) I later asked him in open public if that statement was true then why does the qdma endorse, sell for profit and advertive a product called trophy rock? Its 96% salt and offers nothing in the way of nutritional gains for deer and if it congregates deer in a single location to spread disease why would you promote and sell it? Pretty hypocritical in my observation. We never received a answer to the question and he avoided answering it and went way around the question. So anyway if anyone in your state or county sees these groups also along with HUSA and PETA let the correct people know if they are having direct contact to influence politicians or law makers that they cannot do so if they are a 501c3 tax exempt foundation. Follow Show me racks example above and let senate and house reps kick their azz out of the building.

How it works:

Non-profits and your local game and fish come together under one tent called the International Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies:

In North Dakota many times game and fish officials will also be on the board of the wildlife federation or society. Federal employees from the US Geological Survey and the US Fish and Wildlife Service also serve on these non-governmental boards.

The question then becomes, are these (NGO) non-profits truly a grassroots sportsmens org? Probably not.

Their upcoming pow wow is:

Registration is now open for the 2014 Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies Annual Meeting! Sunday, September 21 through Thursday, September 25, 2014 Location: St. Louis, Missouri (unquote)

This would be the one to attend.

Everyone of us knows and understands the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation. In 1917 the countries wildlife was suffering. Many things were done such as the Pitt-Robertson Act to bring wildlife back to a success story. However, since 1995 straight lines have been bent and the story is blurred. Dr. Valerius Geist had earlier immigrated from Communist East Germany to Canada and partnered with Shane Mahoney of New Brunswick to write a their version of the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation.

At first blush it doesn't look socialist or sinister. The Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies fully adopted it in 2002. But there are some true believers who just cannot sip in moderation.

One of them is Jim Posewitz from Montana:

And...........any 501(c)3 that accepts federal money cannot involve itself in a States rights issue.

Great post Dwight, :)If the public knew the guy that really wrote that north American Model of conservations background was a lot of folks would be shocked;  I think Mr Bell would be happy to jump on board and share this with everyone.

Quote from article:

(118,118,118); "Total U.S. retail purchases by hunters in one year (1996) on hunting equipment, travel, license fees, etc.: $1.725 billion. Total economic impact to U.S. of $60.9 billion and 704,601 jobs."

According to their math, hunting [recreation], has an economic multiplier of 35.3.

All recreation activities, just involve trading money in an economy.

The economic multiplier for farming has been 7,  I saw one article that said it could be as high as 11.

Farming "creates" new wealth, new money, in an economy.  It adds to an economy with new wealth, not just trading money.

So we use 7 for the economic multiplier for farming, and 35.3 for recreation?????

Does the math add up?

I WONER IF KIP ADAMS, FROM QDMA, VIOLATED THIS ON TUESDAY WHEN HE TESTIFIED IF FRONT OF THE INDIANA CONSERVATION COMMITTEE OF LEGISLATURES?

He representing qdma sure did, Just got word that it wont happen again. Its being looked into now for other government hearings. Would not hurt my feeling one bit if uncle Sam yanked their mess from them. Even though there are a few nice folks here and there in the questionable deer management bunch the blame game has gotten old and , They beg for dollars so they can fight cwd LOL...But yet its all media and press releases and controlled statements, Not a dam dollar from them has gone to a research study lab .

Kip Adams was put on the spot at the hearing and he stated that the QDMA was not against high fence hunting but they were against canned hunting.  A committee member asked him if he was there to just offer facts about deer management ect why was everything he discussed biased against our industry.  It was funny watching him squirm.

Good job MGR 200. When a non-profit employee gets shut down for violating laws that prohibit them from getting involved in a states rights issue, they usually stay under the radar after the reprimand.

In North Dakota we found it no good to debate red herring issues such as fair chase, ethics and such. Those discussions are designed to pull more unconcerned sportsmen into the debate. There are just to many moving targets of misinformation and disinformation.

We instead concentrated our efforts on educating ourselves about the leadership of our adversaries. Their names, their employment and affiliations with non-profits.

Most non-profits are incorporated under state law to protect their members from retaliation and financial risk.

When persons work for state and federal agencies, they are warned all the time as employees of the people they are to remain neutral and certainly cannot involve the agency that they work for in their personal positions.

We have a lot of very good state and federal employees in this country. And then there are the activist ones.

Define them.

Uhh!! QDMA is not against high fence hunting!!! Thats a bold face lie!! In reallity QDMA is against anything that does not have there name on it, think I have seen this before..... HSUS, PETA.

Oh if you read over on their forums you will see where someone just put all their members on notice of what Kip did and was called out for. Should be interesting to read all the lies they say to protect him!

This adams guy was as ineffective as the other star studded line up the dnr had.  They just missed the ball.  I have to give them credit on one thing though, their lead up to this committee hearing was intimidating but it bit them in the a**.  Its time to get to work on a piece of legislation to resolve this once and for all.  There is no need to enter this session on our heels. With our court win and some recent events they have to realize we are on equal ground and they better come to the table in serious fashion.

You would think the people at the state house would be getting really tired of the same ol crap all these anti preserves keep throwing out. Its been the same crap for over 10 yrs now, they have absolutely nothing new in any of there testimonies.

Four Seasons, Where are they talking about it. I would like to see how he defends his statements.  I reiterated his statement to the committee and said we agreed with Mr Adams and the QDMA and opposed canned hunting but supported high fence hunting that we had in Indiana.

Clearview, The legislators are getting VERY tired of fighting this issue as well as a lot of our opposition.  They have heard the same "end of the world" claims for years and years.  I have a feeling this will be the last year.

There is a poster over there that seems to be some what on our side and he explained some of the things that went down there. Im sure those die hard members will lie and try to discredit him and his post. Mostly that Singelterry joke!  The post is on their site. You will be lucky to ever see Kip on that site. He has his crooks do his dirty work!

Maybe we should take the video clip of him saying they support High Fence hunting and post it over there.
