Iodine strength question

Thank you in advance for any replies.

I have read on this forum that some farmers are using iodine for scours in their fawns and have found in some old forums as well that 7% tincture of iodine is recommended. My question is does anyone know if Povidone Iodine 10% is safe to use? This is hospital grade and not sure if safe for ingestion or not? The label reads antiseptic microbicide and for external use however I don't imagine the 7% is labeled for internal use either but may be wrong.

Thanks again.

The 7% is also specifically for external use only, poison, etc, etc... however, I'd be very cautious about trying the 10% solution. Being that it can be fatal if too much is ingested, I think trying the 10% solution is too high of a risk and I'd go out and spend the extra few bucks for a 7% solution that you know is safe [enough].
