Ivomec Plus

I tried doing this with my deer and they wouldn't touch the water.....I actually left it go for a few days and they still wouldn't touch the water........so I put it in their food where it's easier to hide the taste of it.

How much did you put in their food?

Read the directions and put the amount that it says for cattle.........only figure it out for the weight of your deer and then times it by how many deer you have in your pen.....you can't really overdose them with it and when your doing it through the feed you have no control over who eats how much........I actually like to use apples better......if your deer like apples then that is the way to go.......i cut up the apples and pour the Ivomec on each slice......the apple will absorb up the ivomec.......you need to let the aples sit for a bit so the alcohol smell goes away from them......then just go out and throw the slices to your deer and watch them eat up the apples....I like doing it this way so you know they all got the Ivomec.........problem is I have a few scew ball deer that don't eat apples....I just put some wormer in the feed and hope they get it that way......but the aples reallly have worked for me well. I worm my deer quite a few times a year and at least once a year they all get the ivermec injectable.......hope this helps....

Dont want to get sidetracked of Ivomec, i will tell you a good wormer that safe for bred does.and have doubled.30 days prior.to fawning, and seen worms come out.and also make warble fly larvae, exit from jaw, lump and bust.other does licked and healed fine with nothing.Positive plus goat pellet.It is pretty strong smelling.add little corn or peanut oil,little sweet feed leave couple days it gone.Dont add enough feed for one to pick it out mostly wormer do this for couple or three,days. all get plenty.DC

I have wormed in the water, and this is my theory: it is just like spraying for weeds in your pens. You don't have to worry what the ratio is, as long as the right amount of chemical gets put on the weeds (in your deer).



What I do is estimate the sum of the weights of the deer in a pen, calculate the dosage per the directions, multiply by two, put the paste in a water bottle, fill the bottle half full so there is room to shake it. Then I shake the bottle to disolve the paste and pour it into a container of clean water-what I know will be consumed in about 24 hours. This won't work during a rainy period or if you have standing water, but my deer drank it right up every time I tried it. I normally let the water go dry before returning to filling every day.
