La200

I have and its 50/50.........for something similar/better I use LA300 or Draxxin and be sure to use tri-port darts.

If i need to give a couple different shots then I'll just knock them out!

Balsam Run - I agree with Todd in ALL that he said.

Only thing I might add is remember to keep your antibiotic as warm as possible when your darting it, especially if it isn't Draxxin. Hold the dart in the warm of your hand until just before you load and shoot.

I personally have never darted any antibiotic but Draxxin, but as Todd said, I would certainly much sooner use LA 300 over the 200.

Hoping the best for ya!

Hey thanks guys for the quick responce. That was pretty much of what I was thinking. What is the difference between LA200 and the LA300? I've never used it, although I have used draxxin and nuflor. Thanks..Troy Haller

LA 300 or Tetradure is only available through your vet, similar to Draxxin, but I was told was longer lasting and covered or MAY cover additional symptoms than Draxxin (broader spectrum).

Anytime, I've seen signs of pnuemonia or what I think is a respitory issue, it is my go to drug of choice and have seen green snotty noses, coughing and letharga go away within 48 hours.

Todd,

Are you saying that you dart LA300. I like using it but have never tried darting it due to its thickness. When you say 50/50 are you saying that you mix it with something to thin it out?

Yes, I have darted with it, but only if it's a follow up dose, or if I feel I'm catching something early enough and dont feel the need to tranquilize them. I do not mix it with anything else, but I do make sure it's at least room temp and tri-port darts.

Wayne i`ve never found it mixed but i use it alot to thin down the Tetradure to dart and syringe . Dex will mix with it also .

Mitch, The drug with 300mg oxytetracycline and 20mg of flunixin (Banamine) per mL mixed together is pretty new on the market. It is called Hexasol Injection. I have had good success with it in deer and cattle. thanks James

Another new drug that I really like is Zuprevo. Same class as draxxin but longer lasting ( I'm told 28 days) and is a little cheaper. Used it on a doe that had pnuemonia and it got her over it when nothing else would. Good stuff.

Zuprevo is some good stuff, seen chronic hackers clear right up from the stuff. Expensive at this point but very very worth it.

For what it's worth I have visited with several vets who say zuprevo is NOT as effective as Draxxin in test that they have seen and in farms test they have used !

Like I say just what I have heard from from folks

I have darted multiple darts with LA200. Every dart I looked at after it hit the deer was empty, not a bit of drug left in it, I assume it has always passed through the dart just fine upon impact. I only use tri-port darts.

Ryan, do you like the Zuprevo better than Draxxin?

Sheri, I wouldn't quite go that far yet. I think that the use of Zuprevo is a great option. Gaylen has brought up a few good points, it worked where draxxin wasn't and it is affective for 28 days. I know of its use and effectiveness in two states (WI, TX) thus far.
