What can be done to prevent infection in a mule deer buck fawn who has a very large open wound on his rump? I don't know what caused it but it's quite deep and about 3 inches wide by 4 inches long. You can see fat and tissue. A whole chunk of hide has been torn off. I'm worried about infection. Looking for advice please.
