Getting ehd in Alabama and was wondering if I cover my pens with lime would it help? I fog everyday and spray trees with permethrin and diesel..antibiotics on feed ..no water in pens..wormed deer with pour on and put extra garlic in feed daily..anything else I can do?

I don't have any ponds/creeks in my pens, either, but last year when I got hit hard with EHD, I could see the midge flies floating on the water in my tanks. If I were you, I'd try to figure something out to cover that water except a small hole where they drink, maybe raise it off the ground. Just a theory, but I think it might help.

We are fortunate not to have to deal with EHD in northern Wisconsin. Noted the comments on water tanks and maybe you want to go to an automatic water cup system. We use Nelson water cups and they work great. The deer get fresh water and there is only a small amount in the cup.
