Does anyone know if it is allowed in south dakota. I know there are elk farms here.. Any infor would be very much appreciated.

Thanks. I am looking in to it but I am having trouble finding information

I believe there is a mule deer ranch out in west river....maybe by Rapid City. Where are you located?

I live in south east south dakota. I am just having trouble getting any start up information.

Looks like the South Dakota Board of Animal Health would regulate deer. They have a CWD cervid program with import regulations and such. I would contact them. Their # is 605-773-3321. I am in Russell, MN--just east of Brookings. You can call me if you have any other questions. 507-829-9326.

I would suggest that you call NADeFA. They have a list that can tell you what cervid they do or do not accept in each state. They can also tell you what department governs the cervids.
