We found a emaciated weak little blind buck. Its eyes are real cloudy white and trying to forage and laying down. I'm guessing its mother is either dead or abandanded it . Its been in same field same area for a week and a half I put out hay and sweetfeed mixed with scratch grain . it has never tried to run from me but has weakly walked away if I got any closer that fifteen feet then would stop . we finally got it today and have it so we can try to help it better with finding out if there is anything more wrong with it than just being blind and malnourished and get it healthy again or at least to the point where some wildlife group or our zoo will be willing to take him to live out his life in safety. Why did we catch it , you ask. Too many poachers out here, too many sick arses out here that would kill him just for the fun of it, and to help it and more reasons . But that's just to name a few . Can anyone give me some info on what he would love to eat , getting some electrolytes back into him what meds I can use for worming and antibiotics and what doses and what to give him to get some vitamins and minerals his poor body body really need now I thank you all in advance :help:

Sometimes cloudy eyes are nothing more than pink eye. We use Nuflor to treat this when we have pink eye. Might be the drug of choice as it will do pneumonia also. Be careful not to change his diet real quick as it will make him loose. Don't get feeding corn when they are not used to it as it will cause problems. I would just give good hay and some small amount of sweet feed which is usually corn, oats and barley but start it very slow like a handful daily.

Thank you for your response . his eyes are more than just cloudy they are actually white like a fireless opal. I have some sweet feed and hay set in the pen for him and made him a straw bed. how can we get him to drink?

I have a sheep with white eyes right now and know it is pink eye. We have given two shots of nuflor which usually starts to clear it up. He can't see a thing but does follow other pen mates. With him not able to see we only have to knee down and he will walk right up to us so he must see something. If we stand he can tell we are human and will walk away.
If he has a flat tray with water in it he will smell it and drink when he needs it. Sounds like your doing things right good luck getting him back on the road.

Hijack it's me again sorry to keep bothering you I was wondering if you got my previous message of thanking you and he now has one of his eyes that is weepy and it's a thick like pus running down his face from his eye and is that common with pink eye and I also need to know where to get the Nuflor, and a ballpark estimate as to how much it usually runs Tractor Supply in my area said they don't have any they don't carry it

That is a common sign weeping and pus like drainage matting up the fur.
Nuflor is a prescription product so got to get it from Vet. Maybe you can get him of her to draw four syringes with 3cc of Nuflor for his treatment. We treat every 48 hours on this but the Vet might want to change that. Fact is they might want to use a different product but I would not use another product as it has worked better than any of the tetracycline drugs for me.
