My herd is on less than 2 acres. I'm not sure what type of dart gun to go with. I am keen on the Pneu-Dart product line. My herd scatters when I walk in with a syringe let alone a gun. But I'm not sure how well a CO2 Hand Gun would be with accuracy. Do I have to be certified to use one or just properly trained? I understand this is a complicated deal and have worked with dartguns before.
What would you recommend? I only have a few days to research and pick one. The county is covering the expense for the park and we have to fit it into this fiscal year. I only have 12 deer right now but they are a higher stress herd. I had an aggressive buck darted and moved to another facility. It was not good. They only used Rompin and darted him twice then had to inject him again. I was furious! Plus, the guy stood there in the open for at least 7 minutes while the buck ran himself over and over again into the fencing until he could get a good shot. Surprised the buck didn't die.
Never again will I allow others to come here and tranq the herd. I want to do this. I know my herd and I know how they respond inside their enclosures. I just need your knowledge on how to go about this the best way possible! Any advice is welcomed!
