I have two doe fawns who are just over two weeks old. They have been doing great until about 3 days ago have scours really bad and dont want to eat. We use vit D milk mixed with goats milk. Gave them .02cc of baytril and 2cc of scour tech also took them off of the milk and giving them bounce back. They had fawn paste and bovine ecolizer at birth. Wondering if anyone had any idea why they are getting scours and if there is anything else i can do for them. Not to be gross but it smells very sour. Also took temp and no fever. They were eating alot of dirt too.

Take a stool sample to your vet, More Fawn paste won't hurt, A teaspoon of plain white yogurt in every bottle also good for scours, scours are common in bottle feds, thats why you need a stool sample in case your dealing with a bug!   Good luck!!

I would give 2cc of cd antitoxin daily if it were me until diarrhea slows up. I would also put pumpkin in their milk , shock effect paste twice a day 5 mL , and put them on some anabiotic , I like nuflor gold and tetradure myself. Also give them some B 12 and B complex , and would water down their milk some.

I have started from day one this year putting pumpkin in my bottles . Knock on wood , I hope I just didn't jinx myself, I have had the least issues with my bottle-feds this year. The last two years I have had about 30 fawns each year. It was always a relief everything again to have everybody on the bottle and no issues . With putting pumpkin in the bottles from day one it seems like I haven't had any of them back off of the bottle at any point in time. I put two heaping dinner spoons per 4 cups of replacer.

I was told that the replacer milk can be way too rich for them.  I had the same issue besides coccida with mine.  I switched over to red cap milk, added pumpkin to everyfeeding, treated the coccidia x 5 days and then had the pumpkin on board for about 10 days before i finally got to see some improvement with my fawn.  Now he's a normal pooing machine and happy as can be.
