Mange????!!!

Use Prolate to treat this. Apply topically with a spray bottle as per instructions on bottle. Tractor supply here has it, but if they do not Jeffer's has it. Use rubber gloves and avoid skin contact.

You will probably have to treat your pen as well to keep it from reoccurring.

We shot a bear last year with mange and the game warden sprayed the area with bleach. Good Luck!

Read the prolate label. It specifies treatment of the paddock area as well.

What about skin so soft. Put it in the rope wick.

Make them go thru it to get to water or food.

remi would that work for tics also,???? got any pics of a rope wick ???

I find the skin so soft is ineffective at controling anything, especially a sarcoptic or any other mange. If you want to treat automatically for ticks and parasites use short nap paint rollers soaked in mineral oil and ivermectin "pour on" spaced 8-10 inches apart around the feed trough which is quite effective. Take a 5 gal. bucket. Place as many 9" paint rollers into the bucket as possible. pour a mixture of 3 gal. mineral oil and 24cc ivermectin or cydectin pour on into the bucket of rollers until the rollers are completely covered. Allow to soak for several hours then add remainder of mixture to the rollers to cover up what has been absorbed. When the level of mixture does not require adding to any more, the rollers have been fully saturated. Install wooden dowels on your feed troughs 8-10 inches apart. place one of the soaked rollers on each dowel. The deer will have to put their heads between the rollers to eat, thus contacying the chemicals. When the rollers get dry, repeat the process.

Are you sure it's mange Fred and not just deer pulling hair out of each other?

are males doing this or just females. rabbits do this(pull hair) to build nest.

I know deer don't build nest .But maby it is stuck in their brain from distant relative like rabbit evolution

It sounds like they probably had lice the way it cleared up since you hit em with Dectomax and Ivomec. We run cattle and the neck is usually where you see the rubbing and scabbing but they can be anywhere, it's pretty common and if you had it mostly in one pen I'd say that probably was the problem more so then mange.
