Medicine with dart?

I have a 4 year old buck that has been released into our high fence for breeding. He appears to have an antler infection and has lost quite a bit of weight. I am able to get up to a 10cc dart that I was going to try to administer a long range penicillin with. If I got the dart with the gel collar to make sure all of the medicine gets in, will it fall out on its own? Thanks for the help and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think you should dart Penicillin, I may be wrong but I think if it gets in there veins it will kill them, Maybe some one else could comment on this for in case i'm wrong.

That is what I would much rather do Truth but the only problem is he is in a 1300 acre enclosure. Risk vs reward I just figured to try to administer some drugs through a dart may be my safest bet.

They make darts that have trackers in them. Hit him with some sedative and you can follow him. Pneudart makes them.
