New to all this just looking for some advice. In Texas, just curious as to what you give your deer when you dart them? Meaning since you have them down and hands on, what meds do you give them, like wormer, antibiotic, ect...? Thanks

A good dose of Nuflor under the skin, Draxxin in a muscle, Dex in the muscle, B12, and baytril if they have loose poop. Then wormer if its a new deer. We have started using La 300 in place of Nuflor about every other time we medicate one.

Well Im not saying that it is the right way. Or the wrong way. I've Been farming for seven years now. Witch isn't to long. But at the same time. Long enough to learn a few things. Lol. There is an old saying. If it isn't broke don't fix it. I've only ever giving two deer any kind of medicine. It was nuflor. The first one was completely our fault. A doe got lumpy jaw from giving her to many apples. And she was stashing them in her pouch. Lol the second was our first piebald Buck fawn. Not sure why mom abandoned the little fella. I say she senced the blindness and albinism. But that's my opinion. We took him in. it was a mission . But other than milk replacer and one small dose of nuflor. He is still with us. And end up being a nice seven point at age one. Our vet always comends us on the status of our deer. Health wise they are in tip top shape. We don't give meds even after darting and antler removing. No wormer . No antibiotics. No after darting meds. Nothing of any kind. And we have never had a sick animal or lost one in seven years. You will be supprised how strong these animals are. If you give your animals everything they need. Nature does the rest. But this is only my experience and my advice. Good luck
