This fall Midwest Whitetail Deer Sales will be having 3 great Whitetail Breeder Auctions.

The first will be on Aug. 19-21, 2010 in Tulsa Oklahoma. This event will be a joint venture between Missouri and Oklahoma state associations for the first time. The sale will consist of 200 lots of Premier Whitetail Genetics.

The next sale will be the PA Deer Farmers Annual Fall Whitetail Auction. If you have not attended this event in the past you are missing out on one of the premier events in the Industry. The sale is set for Sept 9-11, 2010 in Altoona, PA.

Rounding out the year we will be going back to Texas for the All American Invitational in San Marcos, TX on Sept 23-25, 2010. Last year this event was one of the biggest highlights of the fall season. Premium genetics all the way! North and South side by side.

Please check out our new website and send in your quality consignments before the deadline.

Goto: www.midwestwhitetaildeersales.com

You can find all of the consignment forms are there. Please download or print them and send your qaulity consignments in early. As promised this year Midwest Whitetail Deer Sales will be including in each sale, 10 lots in a special section in each catalog, for those new deer breeders. The spaces will be reserved for any deer breeder that has been in business less than 2 years or has not sold fdeer at one of our auctions before and wants to place consignments in these premier auctions. Your farm will be located in a prime location in each sale catalog. Right in the MIDDLE! If you are fortunate to get in as a new deer breeder you should have an audience looking at your genetics.

Very cool and interesting idea Eric. A very good opportunity for new guys to show everyone just what quality they are focused on and raising.

GREAT IDEA.............. Eric,They asked and you DELIVERED!:) Balls in you new guy's court and it's YOUR time to shine! Good Luck and we will see ya there!

Sounds like a great idea eric. That way no new farmers, myself included can complain that they havent had a chance to participate in an auction.I am sure some of us will take advantage of the opportunity.hopefully we will have something up to your standards to get in as im sure you wont be able to accept lower class animals!!!

Way to go Eric! You guys were asked to help and you are now going to deliver!!! Great chance for the new farmers to shine.

Very happy, but certainly not surprised to see your follow through on this. You guys have always been nothing but great to deal with.

Hope all is well.

I plan to be at all three Auctions and look forward to them. One thing you will learn about Eric and Jerry is when they tell you they are going to do something they will do it. Can't wait for Auction season.

Thanks for the support guys. I am also still going to start the pass a DOE along program where I will donate a bred doe to a winning new deer farmer at the PA Sale. Midwest Whitetail Deer Sales will donate a bred doe to a winning new deer farmer (Which Micheal Peters and Virgil or ddwhitetails, I am not sure which are supposed to be laying the ground rules for) and then each year the winning new deer farmer will fawn it out and the next year he will have to be willing to breed her back with a donated straw of semen of course, then give her to the winning new deer farmer the next year. If something happens to her (the original doe), then the last doe fawn born of breeding age will take her place in the rotation. In a few years these new deer farmers should have as strong of a doe and some fawns as the industry could ask for. Let's see how it works out. One small problem, Missouri has found CWD so I will not be able to donate one off of my farm but I am sure I will come up with one, and I bet it will be a good one.

Not at all. What I am saying is that not all states will accept deer from a CWD positive state or a state that has been CWD positive in the past. So to make this fair to everyone I feel that we need the animal to come from a state that has not had a case of CWD so the deer is capable of moving to any state with no sanctions!

I see!

Thanks for your generosity toward new deerfarmers. It is greatly appreciated! Also any lots I have purchased through Midwest Deer sales all have been smooth transactions. Thank you for that!

I plan on heading to the Tulsa Auction. We are just across the KS line and just starting out in the industry. We have managed to get a few fawns on the ground but kinda having a trial by fire, lost one last night. Anxious to learn and meet people in the business. See ya there!!

welcome , KSBUCKS, your life is about to change--let me know if I can help you Darren 417 880 4239

Would you guys believe that i live 25 minutes from the Altoona convention center, been raising deer for 3 years and have not yet attended the auction. I have to go this year, I will find the time. It will be great to meet some of you in person.

Look forward to seeing and meeting you all there. The sales are filling up fast with some great consignments. I think this could be the best year yet for our industry. The economy is coming back and we have weathered the storm. Look for deer prices to be on the rise again.

Maybe this should be on another thread, but it occurred to me looking at the consignment form that getting into this business must be pretty daunting to a newcomer. Think about all the rules and regulations you need to know and adhere to just to be licensed. Then there is the CWD testing to deal with and reporting. Then there is TB testing. These are all things the government has thrust upon us. On top of that, the industry has put upon itself voluntarily the brucellosis testing now. It is only required - one test - to move state to state. So no one but the industry requires certification - in fact I'd be curious to know if there ever was a case of brucellosis in a whitetail. On top of that you have DNA testing. Now I totally understand the issues with false representations etc. But if you need to DNA all of your does as well as your bucks that can get costly. Once you start, you have an ongoing additional expense every year if you are going to keep up with your fawns. It is a pretty long list for someone looking to get started.

It sure is and then on top of that you have to figure the cost of the things you need to start up fence, poles, and then you need the deer!!!I know most deer are worth what people ask for them but man for a new farmer to pay 10 or 15 grand for some top blood!!! Thats alot to bite off so most of the top farms sell back and forth to each other!!!I guess you just have to figure what you want shooters or breeders!!!Hopefully i can make some shooters!!!

KSBUCKS, welcome to the industry. You will love the deer farming. Glad you are making the auction in Tulsa. Look forward to meeting you there. You're fairly close to me in relation to the US map, I'm from Skiatook, OK. Hope to some day be able to visit your farm. Sorry to hear about the lost fawn. Feel free to call any time, if I can possibly help I certainly will. Larry---918-639-6951

I will second Wayne on the thanks.Eric has always been more than willing to help me out in a variety of things. From helping put ads together to helping broker sales for our farm he has always been there. I have never placed a phone call to him that he didn't anwser or return it very quickly. People like him are great for the whole deer industry.
