Midwest Whitetail Deer Sales Upcoming Auctions this Fall!

I have to 4th that! Eric and Jerry are exceptional folks to deal with. Right from the start of my very fist auction with them, they've always offered great support and they will work their tails off to make things fair for everyone.

Can't wait to see you guys at the MO/OK sale!

Does anyone know how the special ten lots for the new guys did at the Oklahoma sail. Also who won that deer give away or when is it going to be. Couldn't make the auction so I was just wondering how things went.

Virgil, the deer give away has never been worked on. That would be on me since I was asked to work on it and DIDN'T.... After thinking and researching the subject, I deceided that it was not a great idea for the deer industry. With to many state regulations,CWD status,TB/Bruc. testing and the expense of starting the program it just wasn't going to work. As far as the new breeder lots, I'll let Eric respond to that, however, I did notice many breeders that had NEVER consigned to a sale. From my count, there were 19 out of 83 consignors that fit the "NEW GUYS" that you spoke of. 23% of the sale was new people. I believe that your **** stirring attempt has been exposed again and if you read the previous post it said that YOUR PA sale is where it (the doe give away) would start anyway.... Virgil, you say you are for the industry but, everytime I see you post it seems to me that you are attacking someone or have a negative spin towards the industry. Maybe I have misread your post but it just seems to be a pattern. Thanks to all that were at the sale and to those that continue to support the industry that I LOVE...

I don't know what was so negative or who I was attacking I was just wandering how the new guys lots did compared to the others. So how did that 23% do not trying to stir your stuff just wanting to know.

i think virgil brings up a good point he just wants to know how the new guys did im interested myself if anyone knows let it be known us newer and smaller guys need a shot to thats what was nice about allowing some new guys to have some lots so it doesnt have to allways be about the big guys

Guy's, Michael is right ! And for the "NEW GUY" I think he saw and felt what the "BIG BOY'S" Felt a "soft" sale that wasn't much different if you think back to a year ago! Shooter buck prices are still a little uncertain and some have not sold thier deer yet. But as was the case last year I don't think we can "assume" That this will be the case for the whole year as fall approaches and more and more people get in the mood to get out into the woods. More and more hunts will be sold and buyers will again be buying deer at auction! It happened the same way last year! I think Eric and Jerry did a "GREAT" Job of keepin the sale goin! It was good to see everyone there! And even though I was one of those who no saled mine! I came home to an answering machine full of people wantin to know what it took to buy her and SOLD her on the second message returned and had four people wanting pedigrees and prices! So "NEW" Guy's just remember..............ONE SOFT SALE DOES NOT MEAN THE SKKKKKKKYYYYYY IIISSSSSS FFFFAAAAALLLLLIIIINNGGG" Hang in there!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS OAKIES FOR HAVIN US!!!!!!!!!:D

Double J, I don't have the exact breakdown on how everyone did but it was good to see some fresh blood getting a shot. As far as the "big guys", I think each and everyone of them for laying the foundation for ALL OF US to do what we love to do RAISE DEER. Maybe, you just have to read between the lines on what he has posted and you to will see what I'm saying. I know from the pm's from several of you that you felt the same way about Virgils post trying to stir the pot. Also, it was brought to my attention that the PA sale has a section for the new and smaller farmers. So we are being given our shot. And yes I said OUR shot. We too have just started to consign lots to the sale companys within the last year and a half. We are taking our lumps and learning the best way to market our animals and we are thankful to Matt, Eric, Jerry, Kevin and the Chupps for all the help and guidance. Maybe some of you that want to know what is happening should spend a few minutes on the phone with these gentlemen and ask them what would be the best plan for your farm. I'm sure that you can ask them(with a open mind) and they will help guide you in the best direction so that you can achieve the goals for your farm. Folks it is not big guys vs. little guys. We are all in this together. Good luck to all and I'll see everyone at Ohio, PA and Texas very soon...

Michael, You are right on!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate to say it!:D We are ALL in this together and there are those among us who will try to push instead of pull! EVERYONE should go to an auction or two to see what's goin on first hand and don't depend on others opions on the state of our industry get out and see for yourselves! HOPE TO SEE YA THERE ............Ohio, P.A, Texas,Indy!:)

no one said we werent feeling the pinch as a whole its just nice to see the new guys and small guys get a shot at getting there deer in an auction and i was wondering myself what the auction did i myself do go to auctions when i have a free chance its hard to do with 3 kids and a wife whos battling cancer so its nice to have other guys answers on what happened at an auction if we couldnt make remember you said were all in this together which we are so hopefully ill see you some time in the future as well

Somebody has to stir the pot once in a while to bring the crap up to the top. Just think if no one stirred the pot there wouldn't even be a special spot this year for the new guys. If everyone sits back and says nothing all the time things that need to change never change until its to late. How many new guys have spent there savings expecting to get a good return. Now nothing cause they can hardly even sell their shooters for a fair price and can't even get into the auctions cause they have no name. Good thing someone stirred the pot cause now a few of these new guys will start getting a chance.I am just a concerned deer farmer looking out for the best interest of the little guy getting in to the industry.

Just so you know I was asking how the new guys lots did because I really wanted to no the results and was not sure wich ones were the new guys!!! If any one has the results and could post them for all to see that would be great.
