Thats all we ever use!! You will be happy with the results you get with it.We mix 1 cup per gallon of red cap and then we pretty much go by the schedule that browning whitetails use.I have it if you need one. Good luck with the fawns!!

I am mixing 1/2 cup milk replacer to 1 gallon of red cap and just a pinch of probiotics in each bottle. It's working good, my fawns are 3 day's old now and have been pooping hard pellet's from the start.

so then no water just red cap whole milk from rutter's ? how do you warm it ? thanks for the quick reply . should be having babies in a week or 2 . just want to know how to do the milk replacer . last year i left them milk off the moms had no problems . i see people use lots of meds for fawns i did no meds just wormed them in the fall . is that ok they all 3 are doing great and are 1 year old now no problems . thanks for all the info good site

Toadman if its not broke dont fix it.You have to find what works for you and run with it.We put 1 cup in the gallon of redcap and mix it up.When its bottle time we warm it up in the microwave and add a little probotics. Then its time to feed the kids.Mark the gallon fawn milk before you put it back in the fridge as you dont want someone to put it on the morning oatmeal..LOL

Rodney, What milk replacer are you using and probiotic? Rick

I use vet's plus probiotic and All Star milk replacer. I have that milk rerplacer because that's what Rural King had. My A.I. fawn's started showing up about 10 day's early and caught me before I bought milk replacer. But my fawn's are doing great on it. Couldnt ask for them to be any better. Last year I used Land O Lakes replacer. I also only heat the milk on the stove, I was told by a doctor that the microwave will kill a lot of the good stuff in the milk. I dont know that this is true but not taking any chances.

I have never heard of the microwave doing any harm to the milk.We used the microwave on all our fawns last year and we have some of our best yearlings ever.I know some of the biggest farms with some of the best deer use a microwave.

There`s no doubt that microwaving milk will kill some good bacteria but when your pressed for time thats the best way i know . 12 years of heating bottles that way with no Ill affects . Thats another one of those if it works for you don`t change .

When you guys mix 1 cup of replacer in a gallon is it literally 1 cup or is it one scoop ? The scoop that comes in the replacer

It is an actual cup, not one scoop that come's in the milk replacer. Some use 1 full cup per gallon, I use 1/2 cup. My fawn's are growing well. Either way you go you should be fine. After I started feeding red cap I like it so much better, not going to say it's any cheaper but it works for me.
