Moving Bred does

The move itself usually doesn't stress them to abort. I have moved does as close as 3 days before fawning, but it was tame does that were loaded without any real stress. The ride was only 1 hour, and all did fine. If you have to tranq, the rule of thumb is do not do it less than 30 days before fawning. Having said that, I have tranqued a few does on an emergency basis 7-10 days before fawning and they did well. I wouldn't tranq unless it was an emergency.

I am concerned about the early cycle of pregnancy. This doe was not bred until mid January. She is only 6 weeks pregnant.

Brett, a good rule of thumb is to wait till the second trimester to move if you can wait till then. Some will move them before that and so have I, but I wait till the second trimester if at all possible.

We moved 2 bred does last year the end of April & they fawned in June. They were from PA & we are from Indiana. We had no problems
