Needing to make some farm visits in MO

Wanting to buy some deer to start raising on my farm. I'm wanting to make a few farm visit to see how different set ups work before building my own. I live in NE Missouri near Macon. Anyone in my area to visit with and talk deer.



Questions I have, To raise Shooter Buck or Breeder Bucks? How long to raise them before selling, sell as fawns or mature adults? To buy fawns or young adults?



I was raised on a cow/calf farm but had most of your other farm animals also. So I'm not new to farming.

I'm just wanting to do something different with the farm. I'm looking to do this on about 28 acres.

I'd also like to visit on a day when you are working on deer in the chute like giving shots, AIing, cutting antlers or anyting else. Free help for you and free experience for me.

I've got experience with cattle in the chute but not deer. I'm just a single dad farm boy with kids at home wanting to get in to deer farming. I'm not looking to replace my day job but an extra income with this would be nice.

And thanks for all the deer for sale offers. I'm probably not gonna have pens ready until next year so buying is gonna have to wait for right now.
