Hi Everyone
I am new to European Red Deer Farming. I am designing my pens at 1.8ha each. and able to rotate every year.
Based on readings from New Zealand Farmers and also Scottish Deer farms there is no clear average stocking rate per Ha. I know depending on your land carrying capacity this number can change quite a bit.
I am currently going on 1st class agricultural land at 12 to 15 mature animals per Hectare.
Am I in the right ballpark with this?
