We have been talking about this for over a year now and have decided to put Wild Rivers Whitetails on the market for sale. While we have enjoyed the past 15 years in the deer business, and still enjoy it, it is truly all consuming. We now have 6 grandchildren (one born April 1) and certainly aren't getting any younger. We want more time to spend with our kids and grandkids. We want more time to travel - and not just for an outdoor show. Gary wants his fall weekends for hunting - for himself. So for these and many other reasons, we have decided it is time to make a change.

We have listed the farm and hunting ranch on the deerfarmer ads under real estate/farms. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to make deerfarming their livelihood and hit the ground running. We not only have great breeding stock, but an established hunting operation - so this is turn key. The other advantage is it is self contained - we raise and supply all of our hunting stock. It is the complete package - factory and showroom. Check out further details on the ad. Contact us with questions - serious inquiries please. We can do at least partial owner financing. We don't expect this will happen soon, and will continue to operate as always. Thanks for taking a look!

While I hate to see anyone leave the deer business, I do realize your reasons all consuming is deffinately what seems to happen. Best of Luck to you in your future endevors!

Well, we don't expect anything will happen quickly - our goal is to be retired in 5 years. We're taking a laid back approach, but you never know. In the meantime we'll enjoy watching those bucks grow out.

I wish the best for you and hope you can enjoy your retirement years with your family and each other.........God Bless!!

Well jane if you need a place to store some of those huge racks that you had at nadefa.....I know a guy up in ny that has some room!!!! lol... good luck. you have mail!!

Gary and Jane,

We will all miss your contribution to the whitetail business. You have always been free to share your years of experience is such a respectful manner.

Thank You

Scott

If whitetail exchange and or Quest could help with promotion of your ranch please contact Todd or Myself. To capture in photo, video and post may open more doors.

Well, we expect to be around for a while yet - like I said - we are looking to be retired within 5 years. Selling a business this size usually doesn't happen quickly, which is why we are open to several different options. We think it would be a heck of a deal for the right person though. In the meantime we will continue to share whatever knowledge we can to help out.

David and Cindy,

I'll give you Inseminators for your breeding season also pmsg and cidrs. Dennis and Virgil will be visiting this summer will try to send back with them. If they see a big buck at Apple Creek will try to include a straw.

Keep up the Faith

Scott

DC, I've had some great guys give me semen from bucks I couldn't afford. They knew the hardship the deer and elk farmers had in Montana had after the loss of our deer and elk business when the State allowed the Iniatitive which put us all out of a real business and stopped our harvest facilities from being able to shoot our animals.

Well with that said I had bought a straw from Whitetail Exchange awhile back and would like to give that straw of Stretch to you guys if you want it.

I will have to find out where it is stored. Just email me.

We got to take care of our good deer women and make them happy. Take care of yourself.

There you go David......that will get you a couple straws of Stretch Semen once you get Jacks straw too. Scott, has made you an awesome offer as well.....we all care buddy and we will help you. Scott I would love to come back with the stuff you offered to David but he lives in OK and that might be a little out of the way for us when we are heading to PA....LOL. We can figure it out! DC smile buddy lots of people thinking about you!!! Thanks for the kind words buddy but I didn't help you for the recognition......i just want to help make your dream come true!!

Sorry Dennis this Texas Cheese Head missed geography class with the boys. Is their anyone that is in Oklahoma that I could send Everything to and would help David (dc) breed this fall?

Scott

DC we would like to help you to make your dream come true. I don't know what bucks you have right now. It sounds like there are some good people trying to help you. I would like to send you a bucket of our new probiotic to use on either your existing bucks or for when your upcoming bucks are ready. Keep up the good spirit and get well soon. I have sent you a private message.

David,

I hope all works out for you. I'm not to greedy of a fellow and I have been blessed with more deer than I deserve. I will give you a live bred doe this fall after breeding season. If she won't produce bigger than that I'll eat the dang thing, and give you a buck bigger than that. If she doesn't have a buck fawn I'll trade you one. You better quit smoking right away. You should come to the WOO picnic this weekend and maybe you would win some more semen. I'll give you some semen too if you need it. I don't need any thanks from you. I know your heart and you would do the same for me or anyone else if you were in my position. I may not have any money but I do have some deer.

Tim

Gary and Jane,

I hope good luck for you guys in your future and feel that you guys getting the Washington DC trips started was a huge turning point for the deer farmers of this country. Without the relationships developed there we may have been shut down. Thanks for all the hard work that you guy's have done in the past that always seems to go un-noticed by most. Good Luck and may your journey be blessed. Thank you.

Tim

Gary and Jane, you deserve everything you can get from the living dream you folks have created. God bless you all. Forgive me for using this thread past this last sentence, but I want to say something to Dennis, since he speaks here. Dennis, you've GOT to pull through this. This site wouldn't be the same without you. God bless you and your sweet wife. Tim, few people walking this earth could be your equal. God bless you, Brother, for everything you did for me and my family when 5 dogs killed everydeer in my 5 acre pen..23 adults and 18 fawns. 8 years of deer farming brought back to life by you and Rowan Smith. Gary and Jane, I pray for continued blessings in your future. Ol' Scrape.

Appreciate the kind words all. We just try to live by some basic core values. I guess the older you get the more you realize that friends and family are what is really important. That is what led to our decision to eventually move on to focus on these things. Like I've said earlier, I suspect we'll still be in this business for some years yet, and will continue to operate as we always have. We just knew that a business of this size doesn't sell quickly so thought we should at least start exploring any interest, also why we say we are open to different options. Maybe if the economy gets going that will help too. Just glad things have turned out so well for others and we'll keep doing what we've been doing for the past 15 years.
