Does anyone have any info on a buck called Illinois Jake?



Here is the story:



We bought a doe on an auction 2 years ago. Bought her AIed to Marty Graw. I knew she was getting AIed 2 days after us because the guy was using the same AI person as we use. Didn't ask him last year, but thought...I'm going to ask him this year (he is here now) if they actually AIed to Marty Graw that year. Here they AIed her to Illinois Jake. Now, we have our AI schedule lined up for 4pm today and we were going to AI her to Prentice...figuring good cross with double Marty Graw. I am so P^SSED off right now!! You cannot imagine!!



So what do we have now???? Can't find any info on Illinois Jake....I know the two does she had are out of him because she came in right on schedule. So, if anyone can help me, it will be appreciated and I promise not to take my anger out on you.
 
Thanks everyone....I can't tell you all how angry I am (still!) about this. I had always had this sneaking suspicion that those 2 weren't Marty Graw. I don't know why...but have always told Randy that "Are they Marty Graw?" Really, how do people think they are going to run a business and be crooked about it?



MN Jake is about 30 miles from us. I got an email saying that IL Jake was (obviously) out of Big Jake too and he thought the doe side may be a McGrew Romeo daughter. Hopefully find out some more information. Randy is pretty angry too and thought that he may be going to IA soon. :D



Just EXTREMELY disappointed along with the anger right now. I have been in love with that Marty Graw for a very long time and had some high hopes that are no longer there for those 2 girls.
 
sounds like a case of fraud.....which here is Canada is all under the criminal code, if the doe was bought at an auction and misrepresented someone owes you compensation ... not their idea of compensation but yours until you are satisfied.... you bought a specific genitic ...fed it for a year and a half...kept the alive in order to breed them how you would like to see them turn out,.... in my book this person owes you two Marty graw daughters....he's lucky he doesn't owe you two Marty Graw sons.....I would take does three years and under in comp.



Just another thought.... the auction house that brokered the sale if it has any integrety they would not take any consignments from the seller until the issue is settled.

Curtis, I totally agree. Susan, if I would be you,I would contact the auction that you bought her from and let them know what happened to you. If they have the integrity, they will try to fix it for you.

She was bought at auction and thank god I save most of the auction books! Found the auction book with the listing.



Randy talked to the guy last night (after leaving a "nice" message) and he said she had backup fawns. Randy told him he better check his records because we knew what date they AIed and she had fawns at 193 days. They weren't 1 month premature back up fawns if they were 8lb twin doe fawns.
 
wow susan. this has to really bite. i know how important your program is to you and Randy. it sets you back not only money wise.. but time that can not be compensated for.

wish you the best of luck in your matter. FIGHT IT! there are way to many people that get away with things due to the one on the receiving end letting it go.
 
could you scan and send the auction page, but at 193 days the only way it wou ld of been bred by the backup buck is if they put it in a pen with the backup buck the same day it was AI'D, which is not only bad breeding practice from a % of conception basis it would be horrible to inflict those potential losses on a deer sold to others, I try to always give my customers exactly what they paid for or more...never less
 
Do they have any antlers from IL Jake? Used semen straw? If they do, give me a call and I can see what I can do to help you out.

Thanks Sarah....yes, a very big set back when you don't have what you thought you had. You know I would definitely not be mad if she just didn't take to the AI. It happens all the time....back up fawns. But, she wasn't AIed to what we bought her to.....that is what I'm mad about. Purposely deceived us! I intend to do everything I can to get this righted for us.
 
When you get this all worked out it would be nice to know some names to put on our don't trust list?
