Pa to Ohio = No

Just found out that Ohio is not excepting deer from PA. After talking with a guy in ohio that was interested in some deer I contacted PA ag dept. to make sure everyone in PA outside of the CWD zone was ok to export deer. The guy that was interested contacted Ohio ag dept. to make sure it was ok and they said no. I am just a little frustrated and bummed out that I can be through west virginia and into ohio in 10 miles and now I am currently unable to do business with people from Ohio.

Pa to anywhere=no, I believe at this time. I know Ny is waiting for Pa to figure things out bfore Ny figures out what laws they are going to put on the books!

Just to be clear... this is the latest information that I have for deer movement out of PA.

The following states are not currently accepting captive cervids from PA:

Florida, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma

Thanks mike for that list. It just sucks that we are so close and cant do business. The CWD zone is probably 4 times farther away from me than this guy in ohio is and my deer can not cross the "State Border" lol. It just cracks me up.

Illinois is open to p a deer give me a call thxs jerry stafford 618-771-3992 loads weekly if anyone needs a back just yell

Well maybe PA should close their Borders ......it sure seems to work good for Texas......and if nobody wants PA deer anyhow what's the difference!?

You might just see that happen. I have heard talk of our state shuttin the doors. Mixed feelings on that one though!

Right or wrong, good or bad; Closed borders do become an economic sanction. They effect many elements of social and demographic markets. Is this the intention in our case? I don't think so, per say, but it will restrain (if not paralyze) growth options for the financially limited breeders and recovery for those that experience losses from diseases such as EHD. We all know the already soaring costs for raising our animals. Couple this with suspect government control and unyielding regulations; you are facing a giant. Border closures are nothing more than a tourniquet waiting for an amputation if left long enough...my little thoughts.

Less economic freedom is never a good thing - it catches up with you eventually. Free trade is one of the principals this country was founded on.

Wild Rivers...'caught your show again last night. I think it was a re-run. I think you folks have an exciting upcoming year. What goodies, I wonder, are awaiting us!

Well maybe Texas can be a poster child for us ALL...and open their borders.........just a thought......otherwise, let the problems fall where they may.....PA kept their borders open through thick and thin....all states surrounding had CWD and now we get it and They all shut their borders...what a joke.......where do they think it came from....Mars??.......

way to hit the high points Dennis

all wt deer originated in the SE US they are now in NW British Columbia we never had any Wt in our area of sask until 60's right after all our mule deer died.....hmmmm did not see any mule deer in our area as a significant population until 2000+

funny though you mention it ...if you can get a deer to talk they say...

take me to your leader

So, here's a question for anyone: why has Ohio shut it's borders to Indiana WTs? This wasn't the case a month ago. Currently, I believe Ohio will not take PA, MI, nor IN deer.
