I have delayed this posts for a while now, I wanted to make sure this little girl was healthy before I posted her. She was a twin to an 8 lb. doe fawn born last wednesday. She is doing great so far. She weights in at a whopping 2.2 lbs!! I never dreamed she would walk, judging by the looks of her legs at birth, but now, at 6 days old she is running around the house like a nutcase, and she is gulping back 4-5 ounces of milk about every 4 hours. She was a lot of extra work over a normal size fawn, and she may continue to be, but she is doing great. She will not be tagged for a while since her ears are so fragile. Here is a pic of her laying beside a normal one week old fawn....

Had one just like her last year. Same weight as your fawn. He was a triplet and he's a yearling now and doing fine. He couldnt stand until he was a week old. We sure didnt think he'd make it but he's a year old the 19th of this month.

WOW! And we thought our 4 lb-er was small! Amazing aren't they??? Congrats on helping her through her growing! Takes special people with warm hearts to raise one like that!

OH MY GOSH!!!! How CUTE!!!! Love her heart!!

Good job :) Take good care of those precious babies.....I love fawns sooo much!!

This is an update on this doe born 2 years ago. This doe went on to survive and we named her Nevaeh (heaven spelled backwords) and she is more of a family pet than a farm animal. Everyone loves Nevaeh that comes.

I used to keep Nevaeh in her own pen, so back in November, the 17th to be exact, I could tell she was in heat the way she was acting. So I walked her out into my one breeders pen, left her there for a few days and brought her back.

This Spring her belly got bigger and bigger. Then yesterday I was feeding the deer and there was no sign of her, so I went up in the field and there she was, pushing out her first baby. I watched the whole event 35 minutes between fawns. It was a great evening and Nev is a great mom. I am prond of her, lol. She's my baby.

P.s. I have no idea how these two buck fawns fit inside of her, lol. They were huge!!

It sure is a blessing to be a deer farmer and experience what GOD provides for us. Hats off for helping that little one survive. It will be your favorite for many years to come.

Thanks. She is a Blessing from the Lord. Its hard for me to imagine a sweeter deer anywhere. We all have our favorite on our farms, this deer is so special and will not leave my farm EVER, Lol.
