Lord wrap your arms of love around this family and help them to seek you for all their comfort and peace. Amen

Macie's surgery has been put off till Thursday now. She is doing ok but the swelling in the intestines just isnt going down as fast as expected. will keep everyone updated.

What a pretty baby girl congrats to u and ur wife . i will also keep you in my prayers . Things will be ok im sure of it.

Macie had her second surgery today and they were successful in getting her intestines back into her belly but ran into some complications and had to install a ostomey bag. She will need to have the ostomey bag for 6 to 12 weeks during which time they (the doctors) will be running test to try and find the cause of the blockage in her intestines and getting her strong enough for her third surgery. She has only been in this world just over a week and has already had a rough go of things.

Please keep her in you prayers as she has a long hard road ahead of her.

Thank you and we will keep everyone up to date.

My family will have you and your family in our prayers. Macie is a beautiful girl.

Well here is an update from yesterdays surgery. Macie has had a hard time breathing on her own and her heart rate has been very high since surgery.

So last night they put her in a drug induced coma.

This has all been very hard on our family the hospital is about 90min from home and we have been staying in the area to be close to Macie.

Thank you all for your prayers and keep them coming it is nice to log on from day to day and get some of this off my chest so thanks for listening and for all your support.

Randy....I am praying and praying for you and the family........prayer got me through my accident last year and I know it will get you and your family through as well!! May your faith be stronger than ever!! God Bless!!!

We are praying for Macie over on C.I.A. on this site. Today's blessing there is Psalms 30:2 "My LORD my God, I have cried unto You, and thou hast healed me".

Randy I will be praying...God Bless you and your family, it must be really hard, and i can't begin to imagine what you are feeling now with your little precious newborn having surgeries, all you can do is take it one day at a time and pray.. The Lord is in control, and nothing is impossible for him! You will have many others praying with you, and God indeed hears our Prayers!!

Randy,

Your daughter is beautiful and very precious. She will continue to fight thru the strength of you and your wife. My niece, who has down syndrome, had surgery right after birth and had a colostmy as well. The first surgery was incorrect and it had to be redone again. That was 31 years ago, technology has improved in so many ways. She is doing well and so will Macie. Always remember that God will only give you what you can handle, at times it seems a little over whelming. Sending prayers your way for your new bundle of joy and for you and your wife.

Randy - My heart is being tugged on severly as I read all these posts, especially of course including yours' descibing your and Baby Macie's cicumstances.

I really feel that God wants you to be reminded that He is in control, that He is a Sovereign God, that He has a plan here, and Macie and your family are in this plan.

We don't often understand the whys of His plans, but He has the BIG picture...we don't. HE...has an infinite mind, ours is finite, so this knowledge thereof should 'help' to make it easier for us to understand that we CAN"T always understand His ways.

I don't pretend to know what you and your family are going through right now, but I know that God loves Macie more than you do... and that ''God works all things out for the good of those who love Him...(Ro 8:28)

My request within the most Holy of Holies is ''For Macie to be divinely healed'' in Jesus' name!!!

We will keep praying. I will never understand why babies have to endure these types of trials myself.

I know that NICU's are incredible and the technology is getting better all the time. I got all to familar (for a little different reason) with the NICU's a few years ago. It changed me forever.

Here is a link you can read about our story. The good news is with support more and more babies will survive these types of issues.

The moral of the story is while times are tough she is in great hands both with God and the NICU.

thanks gzilla,

I have been meaning to update everyone but was kind of waiting till I had some good news.

Macie is still in the NICU 28 days and counting her intestines have showed some signs of life but then it seems they take a step back. She still has not been able to take any feedings yet. It is just a waiting game at this point and from what the docs all seem to think its going to be a long summer.

once her upper intestines start to work they will try feedings and see if her stomach responds once it responds correctly (will take weeks) she will go back in for her third surgery and then the process starts all over again to get the lower part of her intestines to work.

I do have some great pics. I will try to get them posted in the next few days.
