Possibility of doe breaking neck coming out of chute

I received a call from my vet tonight. He was working  a fellow deer farmers yearling doe. She was in the chute five minutes or less. Meds, plus draining a cyst on her neck. When he dropped the chute she hit the ground and died. Her neck was broke. Has anyone ever seen a deer break its neck in or coming out of the chute? ( Papa or mama chute) Now, with that said. He explained that as he was getting things ready he heard the deer hit the fence several times in the alley way. (alley has no shade cloth on it.) Is it possible that the deer broke it's neck in the alley way and made its way into the handling facility and chute and as they were treating her it somehow completed the break? The vet is just trying to prevent it from happening again on other people's  deer.
