My biggest fawn didn't want to eat this last feeding.....he had some slimey poo with some blood in it.........he has always been the best apetite...he is one of those that would basically eat till he woulod explode.....I always made sure he did not over eat as he is on the red cap..........but like i said he ate welll the fisrt feeding and the middle feeding a while ago he wouldn't touch a drop.......now i have had fawns do this and then be starving the next feeding........but you know how when you see the fawns everyday you know when they just are not feeling well and that is the case with this guy...plus the slimey poo with blood has me concerned.....he has already been agreessively treated foe coccidia about a weeka nd a half ago.......and i have been giving the C & D anti toxin as a prenetative. today i just gave him a tube of the Target probiotics when he didn;t eat and nothing else....what do you think i should do....don't want to lose this guy he is a direct Max son........don't want to lose any fawns for that matter......

Keep an eye on him and post up tomorrow what he does tonight and in the AM. Last year we started giving fawns previcid (yes the human drug and you get it from a pharmacy store) and had good results. But we only gave a quarter tablet 2x per day. Also, are you mixing any baytril 22.7 tablets (1/2 tablet per day) in a bottle for the sick fawn? How did you treat the coccidia?

I assume the sulmet is given orrally?? Thanks for the responces....I do not have any sulmet so i will have to run get some in the AM.............The fawn was treated with a drug called marguis for the coccidia and his stool was reevaluated and came back negative for the coccidia.......Hopefully he just had an upset bellya nd will be back to normal for the 11:00 PM feeding......lets hope...if not i will keep him hydrated and get the sulmet in the morning right away!!
Billie Jo do you think i should not wait till morning?/ If so I can head up now and get some from you......i will reimburse you for it of course.......

If It were My fawn I wouldn't wait....
Only you know how sick it is But as hot as it is...and the blood in the stool and not drinking it would really help ASAP...I feel.
