I've seen many great producers basically drop out of the breeder market. They still advertise here and there, but it has really gotten to be "the deer of the moment" sort of business. There are so many good deer out there and it seems like one moment this one is hot and six months later it is a different one. If you tried to keep up you'd go broke or nuts. I can think of several folks with very good deer who have done very well in the past but have pulled out of all auctions, advertise very little and only sell off the farm. Maybe this is one of those instances.
