Love it !!! Will never use telazol and xylazine again. BAM is a far superior product!

I've been using a home made version of BAM for ten years, never had any problems. I have put down one buck prolly 40 times with it, four times in five days once. Try that with anything else and see what you get.....

BAM is well worth it....

Thanks so much guys.......another quick question......I know we don't like to give doses when talking about this stuff......but do you pretty much use the same quantity when using BAM or are the doses different?

Zoopharm sends a dosing schedule with it. It starts at 1cc bam for a small doe to 1.5cc for large does. Adult bucks 2cc. Dosage they list is basically 1cc/100lbs. I have used it in a couple of fawns and used .1cc/10lbs. It is $225 for 11 cc of BAM with the reversal. I talked to Zoopharm yesterday and they said that the promotional price will end sometime within the next 2-3 months and the price will go up greatly. My guess is it will probably be at least 5x the cost it is now. I price out the drugs separately and at my cost I could not even come close to what they are selling it for. Their meds are also more concentrated thus it can be given in 1-2 cc doses instead of larger amounts.

I have used it a few times and it seems to be a lot better than the alternatives. They go out quickly, less salivation, respirations more normal and wake up quicker.

I just talked to Cristy at Zoopharm about the price increase, she said it will be going up after the first of the year but it will not be 5x as much. She said to expect a reasonable increase. The individual drugs are very expensive but by combining in a kit they have been able to price them better.

Will you let us know what that is?

I use the 10mg/ml mix of Domitor(Medetomidine), and Butorphanol. The dose depends on what you are going to do with em once out. Normal dose for a 180# buck is .5 Domitor and .5 Butorphanol to get him down. We do surgery(repair/open belly opening to pee out of) and add another .5 of Domitor and 1cc of Ketamine to keep him out for 45 minutes.

10mg/ml bottle of Domitor is around $400, reversal(Antisedan by Pfizer) is $100 for a 10cc bottle.

Bam is great but not especially on repro work. Not recommended in semen collection. I still like rompun/ telazol. It still has it's purpose but in sick or old deer or temperature extremes, bam is better choice. Azaperone, aka stresnil, works excellent on deer, especially treatment for capture myopathy. It's the only treatment for capture myopathy, stressed deer.. When bam is used, the b and m are reversed leaving Azaperone on board which is awesome. Sometimes the sedation is not deep enough alone, I like straight telazol, 5 cc sterile water per bottle telazol- as labeled, and bumped iv accordingly( you can place 0.1 cc b complex-yellow in the bottle to distinguish it from rompun/telazol. Tiletimene and ketamine decrease the seizure threshold thus seizing is more likely.. To treat seizing animls, we give valium iv. Therefore, telazol is what I prefer because it is like ketamine and Valium in the same bottle. If you use ketamine a lot iv, you will experience a seizure one day and that experience will be bad enough to use telazol from then on.. Not being a smart butt, just trying to save one that experience ;).
