Never done it before, how tight do you need to pull shade cloth?

A. Flag in the wind tight

B. Moderately tight

C. Trampoline tight

Any input, reasoning, and explanation is welcome.

I would personally say trampoline tight. And also use wire or small lumber to use between posts to help stop it from flapping in the wind

You don't need to go crazy and make a stretcher or anything.  Just pull it tight with your hand and secure a clip on top.  Do 5 or ten on top and then go on the bottom and secure the bottom.  The wind will actually tighten it up, almost like shrink wrapping, after awhile.  If you have any questions give me a call.  412-389-8375.

We have had our best success by getting it as tight as possible. We pull it by hand and get a lot of staples into it. What we have found is that the more it flaps, the more it wears and tears. I agree that after a while it get a "shrink wrap" effect. This certainly helps if a few spots were not as tight as others.
