I have a fawn that has an infected belly button, Surrounding area is red and has pus seeping from the area. Can anyone give any recommendations to what I should do, What antibiotics to use, what dressing to use, Any help would be appreciated,

We had the same problem last year and this worked out great. Drain the infected area . Next you need to go get some cephapirin sodium ( TODAY) for lactating cows and fill the belly button area. Do this once a day for 5 days or till it heals. We also gave 2 cc's of penicillin once a day for 5 days. Hope this helps!

You can also put betadine on a cotton ball and dab on the area a few times a day, 1cc LA 200 subQ, probiotic paste, like shawn said drain puss, I use a needle, Good Luck!!!
