A DEEP sigh of relief...I just finished my TB and Bruc. testing.  I darted 8 adults with BAM II and it went perfect.  In the past, I only had a pump pistol but I purchased a pump rifle in the spring and that made a huge difference because I didn't have to "chase" any deer to get close enough.  Thankfully, my vet used the blood test which means I won't have to dart them again in a couple days.

I was able to get a quick score on Lake Effect and his twin brother.  Lake Effect scored approximately 220" and his twin scored 182", both mostly typical at 2 years of age.

John i know what you mean we just did are first TB and Bruc. testing this past weekend darted 19 with triple strength. Everything went good, We also did the blood test.

We tested last Saturday and it went very well. Darted 3 bucks with bam II and ran 15 through the chut and our new handling barn.

We also did part of our herd last week and then find out they cant do the tests because they are out of material for up to 8 weeks. Glad i sold everything that is going this year before testing!

I'm curious to know what dosages everyone used. The most I used on my largest buck was .75 CC and I used .5 on all my doe.

1.5 cc on my bucks and they are down and out under ten minutes. The bucks were 2 3 year olds and one 2 year old.

I have found that I get good results with less than the recommended dosages. Nothing wrong with the recs but a lot of time that much BAMII is not needed for most deer. Notice "most".....

1.5 year old usually get 1/4-1/3cc depending on the deer and what needs doing to them, I hardly ever use more than 3/4cc on anything.

I put a 220# 11 year old buck down last night. Used 1cc BAMII. Down in ten minutes. Out for an hour while we did surgery on his belly. Only additional drug was a local to relieve pain. No problems. Reversed and up in five minutes.

on small fawns I use .01 or .02 with a insulin syringe. Sedated two last night for surgeries. Stitched up an eight inch cut on ones back and stitched up both elbows on another. No problems with either.

try less than the recs, if not enough you can always walk up and hand stick em with some more. Safe because it's 100% reversable.

On deer that are calm, I have used .4 ccs on a 200 pd buck with good results. But crazier deer, 1.5 ccs made tbem drowsy and wouldnt go down until topped off
