I was wondering about starting an elk herd in a WI preserve setting. What bloodlines would produce best and what should my expectations be for scores?
They would eat natural water, browse, and vegitation, with pellleted supplement feeding, and mineral blocks. What is a good number for a large wooded acreage? (over 1,000 ac) I have sika and whitetails in there now. I dont hear much here about the elk lines on this forum and thought I would see what you guys know to see if this is even a smart thing to do. Is there a future in elk?
