They make a tag cutter or you can just use a sharp nife and cut the back off then slide it out.

They should sell tag cutters at your local feed store.
 
I just use a single sided electrial wire cutter, slide ths flat side aginst the ear behind the button and squeeze...... but getting to buy a new tool is ok
 
Jim I dont believe he is releasing them into the wild. I a pretty sure deerchaser just started a perserve a while back so I am assuming that these will be in the perserve.
