You all should go to Whitetails of Oklahoma website and look under border closing. Its the minutes from the TDA board of directors meeting where they started the process to do a final closure on the border. It also talks about them getting Oklahoma shut down as well. We had traveled to Austin to TAHC meetings and a CWD Working Group meeting to get an exemption to their rules. After meeting with the working group we secured a unanamous vote to reccomend allowing Oklahoma an exemption. By the time we reached the next TAHC meeting there was a change of position from one member of the working group. That member was the TPWD representative(wonder what happened in between meetings). We were able to secure the go ahead and secure the right to do business in Texas from the Texas Animal Health Commission. The TDA went to TPWD after that meeting and had them shut down all states being able to get an import permit. That my friends is a small picture of what happened. There was alot more to the story, and a few more tricks pulled but that gives you the gist of it. Anyone smart enough to cut, paste and copy, please feel free to move that post to this site.
